“When I first started Qont, I had one vision only — to risk manage the world portably,” recalls Jordan J. Elliott, Founder of Qont. “Not like we were taught in paperwork or slow consultations. I knew it had to be everywhere, in real time.”
Elliott admits that the idea didn’t immediately resonate with everyone. “The engineers I spoke to back then weren’t interested. They were focused on the short shot — the immediate problems in front of them. I was always looking ten years ahead.”
Instead of stopping, Elliott turned outward. “I began calling businesses directly, and they almost jumped through the phone. Even in the early days, when the technology wasn’t as advanced, the concept was enough. They wanted portability, they wanted simplicity.”
From that moment, the building blocks were set. As Elliott explains: “We had three principles we never let go of: portability, inputability, and accuracy. It had to move with you. It had to accept inputs in every form. And it had to be right.”
Looking back, Elliott is clear about what kept him moving. “I’ve been an engineer, I’ve worked in real estate, I’ve run businesses. But founding Qont was different. This time, I knew I wouldn’t forgive myself if I stopped. So I didn’t.”
